As a former and eternal queen, benefactor, enabler (those fajitas!), and the ultimate Corny Superfan, Blanca Aldaco brings a long and (ahem) storied Cornyation history to her reign as king Anchovy. She is the passionate owner and visionary behind Aldaco’s Mexican Cuisine in Stone Oak, a beloved restaurant that has been a staple in San Antonio for over three decades.
Originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, Blanca moved to San Antonio in the 1980s with a deep love for traditional Mexican flavors and a desire to share the rich culinary traditions of her heritage. In 1989, she opened Aldaco’s, which quickly gained a loyal following thanks to its fresh, authentic dishes and welcoming atmosphere.
Blanca is not only known for her culinary expertise but also for being a pioneer in the San Antonio restaurant scene. Her dedication to excellence has led to numerous awards and recognitions, including being credited with popularizing the now-famous avocado margarita, a signature creation that continues to draw visitors from all over, and introduced Pastel Tres Leches to San Antonio. Additionally, Blanca was awarded the Texas Restaurant Association's Outstanding Restaurateur of the Year Award in 2023 & Visit San Antonio’s ¡Provecho! Spirit Award in 2024.
Family is at the heart of everything Blanca does. She is happily married to Rey Feo LXI, Charlie Garza, and the proud mother of two daughters, balancing her successful career with her commitment to family life. In addition to her business success, Blanca is dedicated to giving back to the community. In addition to her Board role for the Texas Restaurant Association, she is actively involved in philanthropic work with the Les Dames d'Escoffier International San Antonio Chapter and Lo Bello Women's Association, supporting women in the food, beverage, and hospitality industries. Her story is one of passion, perseverance, and a love for sharing the rich flavors of Mexico with the SanAntonio community.
